Privacy Policy

Cell Division · Effective date: October 13, 2026

This privacy policy describes how Cell Division (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use Cell Division (the “App”).

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and optionally a profile photo. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from the provider. We do not store your password — authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider.

Game data. We store your game statistics, scores, rankings, and leaderboard entries to provide gameplay features.

Analytics. We collect anonymous usage events (e.g. screens viewed, games played) associated with a randomly generated device identifier. If you are signed in, events may be linked to your user account. We do not collect device hardware identifiers.

Website analytics. If you accept analytics in Cookie settings, this website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, clicks on App Store links, and browser game starts and results. A game event records the AI difficulty, board size, who moved first, how the game started (new game, rematch or reset), the result or why the game closed, the move count, and the active play time. It does not record your moves. An App Store click records an outbound link click. It does not confirm a download. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies and receive page URL, browser, and device data. You can reject or withdraw consent at any time in Cookie settings in the website footer. Google Analytics does not load before you accept.

Crash reports. We use Sentry to collect crash and error data, which may include device model, operating system version, and application state at the time of a crash. This data is used solely for debugging.

Purchase information. In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) through RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment details. We receive a record of your purchases and entitlements, such as a lifetime Pro upgrade or a hint credit pack.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and use similar technologies to provide ads. Where consent is required, the App asks before it requests ads and provides privacy choices in the Account screen. Ads are not requested when consent status cannot be verified.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. App analytics and crash data are retained for up to 12 months. Website analytics retention follows the data retention settings on the Google Analytics property. When you delete your account, your profile, private game history, leaderboard entries, hint balance, and first-party analytics identifiers are permanently removed. Shared online match records remain for the other participant, but your profile identifier is removed from them. We retain limited purchase and reward transaction identifiers where needed for financial audit, fraud prevention, and duplicate-grant prevention.

5. Your Rights

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to restrict processing and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA to know what data we collect and to request deletion.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
